# Shipping & Privacy Policy
## Discreet Packaging
Makita ensures that all orders are packed in a secure, sturdy, and moisture-proof carton with **no indications of the contents inside**. We guarantee **100% privacy protection**.
*Please note:* Customs agents may open the package for inspection and determine the import tax for overseas customers.
## Free Shipping
We offer **worldwide free and discreet shipping**, primarily to North America and Asia. However, due to import laws, regulations, and restrictions, we **do not ship** to the following destinations:
- Islamic countries
- Thailand
- Malaysia
- India
- Indonesia
- Africa
- Iraq
**Note:** If you are willing to pay an additional shipping fee of **$500**, we can ship to Puerto Rico, Hawaii, Alaska, etc. Please contact us for further details.
## Customs Taxes
- **United States, UK, and EU countries:** Taxes are usually included in the shipping cost, meaning customers generally do not need to pay additional tax.
- **Mexico, Canada, or other European countries outside the EU:** Customers typically need to handle customs clearance and pay any applicable taxes independently. We will do our best to help reduce customs fees where possible.
- **Remote countries or regions (e.g., Ecuador):** Customers must **prepay $300–$500 in customs fees** before shipping, which will be refunded after successful customs clearance. This is to avoid return shipments due to difficulties in contacting the customer during customs processing.
If you are unsure whether your location is considered remote, please contact us for confirmation.
## Shipping & Delivery Time
For **customized orders**, manufacturing and shipping usually take **1–2 weeks** from the date of order. *Please note that cancellations or refunds are not accepted once production has started.*
Before shipping, we will confirm the product details with the buyer. We offer two shipping options:

For **in-stock items**, delivery typically takes **2–5 business days**, but exceptions may occur.
For **local customers** purchasing from warehouses in the U.S., EU, UK, or California, delivery takes **2–5 business days**. If no local warehouse is available, the order will be shipped via sea freight, which may take **30–35 business days**.
*Delivery times may be affected by traffic, weather, customs clearance, and other unforeseen factors. Our goal is to ship products as quickly as possible, and we appreciate your patience.*
If you have special requests (e.g., weekend delivery or pickup at a local post office), please leave a note during checkout. Our delivery partners may call you before arrival.
For **next-day delivery service within the U.S.** (excluding Puerto Rico, Hawaii, and Alaska), please contact us at support@makita.com.cn.
## Order Tracking
Your package will be shipped via **DHL, FedEx, or UPS**. A tracking number will be provided via email once the order has been shipped. *Please ensure your contact information is accurate.*
Orders shipped from China (by sea or rail) will receive a tracking number **only after arriving at our overseas warehouse and being dispatched from there**. Until then, tracking information will not be available.
## Pickup Option
Customers can choose to pick up their package at a **FedEx or UPS location** by following these guidelines:
- **Monitor Tracking Status:** UPS/FedEx will notify you upon arrival. Please coordinate with them for pickup.
- **Leave a Note at Checkout:** Provide your preferred FedEx/UPS pickup location in the order notes.
- **Pickup Within 3 Days:** Packages must be collected within **3 days** to avoid additional shipping and handling fees (**20% of the order value**).
## Package Inspection & Acceptance
Upon delivery, please inspect your package immediately:
- If the box appears damaged, take photos and refuse the delivery if necessary.
- If damage is found later, contact the freight company for a claim.
- If the delivery receipt does not allow opening the package before signing, carefully check for external damages. If damage is visible, set the package aside for inspection by the carrier.
